Ilex Avenue runs from the Mulberry roundabout on the right, next to St Mary's Church, along to Sea Lane Ferring on the left. From the Mulberry south to the sea runs Sea Lane, Goring with its Holm Oak trees down the centre of the road.
Goring Hall Hospital is in the centre just south of the Avenue. To the right of the Hospital running down to the sea is the Plantation, an attractive pedestrian avenue of mixed trees. Apart from the new housing at Goring Way, north of the Avenue up to the railway line, the Goring Gap is a wide space of cultivated fields from the sea, up past the Littlehampton Road and Highdown, up to the Downs.
