Bond bikers in London to Brighton Bike Ride
Software developers Gillian Findlay and Adrian Windslow from the publicly-listed company in Parklands Avenue have been hard at work training for the 25th anniversary ride on June 18. Bond International Software (UK) Ltd managing director Tim Richards said: "We have always had a policy of supporting our staff in their charitable efforts, so when we heard that Gillian and Adrian were taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride we were more than happy to support the British Heart Foundation. If they are game enough to take part then the least we can do is give them a helping hand!" First-timer Gillian, said: "I have never done anything like this before. The main reasons are firstly to raise money for a very worthwhile cause and secondly to set myself a challenge and get fit. I am looking forward to the ride, although Ditchling Beacon is a cause of worry! I have already more than doubled my initial target of £100. mainly thanks to sponsorship from Bond International Software, and people are still coming forward to support me. I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me so far. Gillian has been working out at her local gym 4-5 times a week and has also tried the latest trend of 'Spin' classes, which simulate different cycling conditions. Every other weekend she also completes a 30-40 mile bike ride. Adrian has taken part in the event five times. He said: "I must be a bit of a sucker for punishment! I'm certainly looking forward to it - it's a great day out. You get plenty of support from people along the way and there are loads of eating stops, bands and other entertainment. There's also nothing better than that first pint on the seafront in Brighten once you've crossed the finish line! Hills apart, the only thing I'm not looking forward to is getting up at 5am and trying to get to London on the train with all the other participants!" Bond, which is listed on AIM, produces the highly-successful Adapt recruitment software. It is used by an estimated 18,000 users in 32 countries, including many of the industry's biggest names such as Kelly Services, Manpower plc, The Hays Group and Select. It has six offices worldwide, including its UK headquarters in Goring
